When the feminine gender is intended to be expressed for those stems adu, idu, and udu, the endings vaḷ and kē occur at the end when any case inflection follows:

avaḷ [‘that woman’],

ivaḷ [‘this woman’],

uvaḷ [‘that intermediate woman’],

avaḷaṁ [‘that woman (acc.)’],

ivaḷaṁ [‘this woman (acc.)’].
