P.Oxy. III 413 (Χαριτιον) (P.Oxy. III 413 (Χαρίτιον))
The Charition mime
Greek farce on the coast of a barbarian kingdom on the Indian Ocean: the Greek girl Charition escapes with her brother after the barbarians are made drunk. The king sings of "Indian chiefs"; the barbarians speak a language that Grierson compared with Prakrit and Hultzsch (1904) read as Kannada — whether it is real Dravidian, garbled Indian or gibberish is still disputed.
