One of the most ancient of sages and the most upright of people, he spread the good that was sent down to earth from heaven, and was the most knowledgeable of all about the named drugs that grow.

Ibn Abī Uṣaybiʿa said: "He was a skilled sage, one of the earliest and greatest sages of India; he had insight into the art of medicine, the powers of drugs, the natures of the generated things and the properties of existing things, and he was among the most knowledgeable of people about the configuration of the world, the composition of the spheres and the motions of the stars."

Abū Maʿshar said: "Kanka was foremost in the science of the stars among all the scholars of India in past ages."

I say: Among them is a book on "The Events of the World and the Cycle in the Conjunctions". This would be a glorious book if it could be found — but how unlikely!
