# كتاب سندباد الحكيم

The Book of Sindbād the Sage

Frame-tale of the king, his son, the slandering wife and the seven viziers, said by al-Masʿūdī to be Indian (of the time of King Kūrush); Ibn al-Nadīm lists a long and a short version. Lost in Arabic; the Persian Sindbādnāma and the Syriac, Greek, Hebrew and Spanish versions descend from it, and the 'Seven Viziers' of the Thousand and One Nights is a later Arabic recension.
