وكان برهان الدين أحد الوعاظ الأئمة، كثير الإيثار باذلا لما يملكه حتى إنه كثيرا ما ياخذ الديون ويؤثر على الناس، فبلغ خبره إلى السلطان فبعث إليه أربعين ألف دينار، وطلب منه أن يصل إلى حضرته فقبل الدنانير وقضى دينه، وتوجه إلى بلاد الخطا وأبى أن يصل
Burhān al-Dīn was one of the leading preachers, very self-sacrificing and lavish with what he owned, so much so that he often took on debts and gave to people. News of him reached the sultan, who sent him forty thousand dīnārs and asked him to come to his capital.
