12.31.1
A man from among the great Hindus brought a claim against him that he had killed his brother without cause, and summoned him before the qāḍī. He [went], greeted him and made obeisance; he had previously ordered the qāḍī that when he came to his court he should neither rise nor stir. He went up to the court and stood before the qāḍī, who ruled against him that he must satisfy his adversary for his brother's blood, and he satisfied him.
