Once he appointed a contingent of the army to go with Malik Yūsuf Bughra to fight the infidels in some mountains adjoining the district of Dihlī. Yūsuf set out and most of the army went out with him, but some of them stayed behind. Yūsuf wrote to the Sultan informing him of this, and he ordered that the city be searched and whoever was found of those who had stayed behind be seized. This was done, and three hundred and fifty of them were seized, and he ordered that they all be killed, and they were killed!
