In the days of the bashkāl, that is, the rain, this sea becomes so stormy and rough that for four months no one can sail on it except to fish. On the day we arrived there one of the Hindu jogīs came to me in private and gave me six dinars, saying, "The brahmin sent them to you" — meaning the jogī to whom I had given the rosary and who had given me the dinars. I took them from him and gave him one dinar of them, but he would not accept it and went away. I told my companions of the matter and said to them, "If you wish, \[take\] your share of them," but they refused and kept marvelling at his affair. They said to me, "The six dinars you gave us, we added as many again to them and left them between the two idols where we found him."
