Quṭlū Khān was a man true to his word; people trusted him and relied on him to keep faith. He held a lofty rank with the Sultan, who honoured him greatly; whenever he came in to him the Sultan rose for him out of respect, and for that reason he would not go in to him unless the Sultan himself summoned him, so as not to trouble him with rising for him. He was fond of giving alms, very generous, and devoted to doing good to the poor and the needy.
