> I was trembling before him, reciting "deaf, dumb, blind" and blowing over him, until God
> the Exalted turned away this calamity and made him blind and deaf. And God forbid, if in that fury
> and wrath he had overpowered and subdued this boy, the life of this helpless one would have been exposed to destruction and ruin.’
> The husband said: ‘Where is the boy now?’ She said: ‘In this upper chamber,’
> and called out. The boy came down; the husband beheld a sight exceedingly delicate, and an apprentice
> beardless and very refined. He showed him great kindness and comforted him, and said: ‘Tarry, so that
> I may take trouble for you and show you due hospitality, for you are in the place of a son to me,
> and this woman stands in the rank of a mother to you; you must come continuously and make known your desires!’
> And with such kindness he granted leave to the boy, and praised his wife for the efforts she had displayed,
> and for having gained such merit and laid up a fine provision for the afterlife,
> accumulating a wholesome and splendid treasure; \[and someone\] said in praise:
