> Matters must be sought at their proper time; / a matter out of time will be weak, weak.
> And one should heed this dictum: ‘Take from your day for your tomorrow!’ so that when the temperament
> of fortune and its conditions undergo transformation and change, and the night pregnant with the newborn of circumstance
> places it, contrary to desire, from the wombs of cycles into the lap of the midwife of destiny, the heart
> and mind do not remain bewildered and stupefied in the talons of the eagle of perplexity and the descents and straits of regret and anguish.
> The proper plan is for me to undertake a journey and carry some capital with me, for they say that in such-and-such a land the price of food is low;
> I will go and bring back winter provisions for myself
> before seeds are hidden beneath the veil of earth and concealed
> beneath the mask of granaries.” So with this resolve he set out in that direction; and since
> the goal and destination were far away, some time elapsed, until the season when
> winter launched an assault upon the world, and the army of the cold made a night attack upon the host of trees and fruits;
> the mountain peaks and the meadow borders became bare and destitute of foliage and fruit,
> and except for a turban upon the crown of the pine and a robe upon the stature of the cypress, nothing remained; green robes fell away from the flanks
> of the trees, and the sieve of the clouds sifted particles of camphor down upon the dead of the world:
