ماه در آسمان بوذ ، وحور در جنان ، نو در بیابان چه میکنی ؟ کنیزک گفت : روزی از بالای کوشک نظر می کردم ، حسن روی ، وشکل موی نو دیذم ، کی آفتاب از بور رخسارت خجل شذ ، وماه را از غیرت حمالت پای در گل بماند ؛ بوی مویت بناف آهو رسید ، خون شذ؛ وخون دل من از راه دیذه بیرون آمذ ، عکس رویت بر وی افتاذ ، لعل گشت ؛ عشق جمال تو سایق وحاذب من شذ ، وچون جوهر مغناطیس دل مرا محوذ کشیذ ، چون کاه سوی کهربا، وچون بلبل سوی گل ، روان شذم ، وقدم در راه هاذم ، وروی بکعبهآ وصل آوردم :

> said: "One day I looked out from atop the palace; I saw the beauty of your face and the shape of your hair,

> came forth through my eyes, the reflection of your face fell upon it, and it turned to ruby; love for  
> your beauty became my driver and attractor, and like the essence of a magnet drew my heart to itself;  
> like straw toward amber and like a nightingale toward a rose, I set forth,
