> The Coming of the Slave-Girl on the Fifth Day to the King's Presence
> (1/11) When the turn of the cycle of days arrived at the fifth day, the clamor of the woman's cries for help
> reached the ears of the stars. She said to herself: "If I permit any delay or neglect in this matter,
> the prince will unlock his tongue and exert every effort in tearing this veil and uncovering
> this secret. And because the company of viziers show total exaggeration in taking his part,
> and have boundless favor \[toward him\], relying upon this support and reinforcement they will strive for my destruction
> and execution, and will depict and set forth in the king's hearing the welfare of religion and state.
> Today I will shoot every arrow I have in my quiver, and play every trick I know."
> Then, with wailing and lamentation, sorrow and sighing, she went into the king's presence,
> and after offering service, kissing the dust of the threshold, and delivering praise and greeting,
> she said: "May the sun of the king's judgment never suffer darkness from the judgment of the unjust viziers, nor the eye of his equity
> suffer blindness from the impacts of the thorn of misfortunes! Although the king does not cast a glance of favor upon the complaint of this pitied victim,
> and, because of the concoction of false speeches by the viziers, does not grant equity to this
> longstanding servant who has grown up in the sanctuary of this realm,
> and gives no weight to this dreadful event, and holds this momentous disaster small and contemptible,
