# Figure of Buddha

Standing Buddha, carved in a buff-coloured sandstone. The figure displays the attributes characteristic of mature Buddhist iconography: hair in tight curls with a cranial protuberance (uṣṇīṣa); long ear lobes and no sexual organ. The diaphanous drapery is a hall-mark of the Sārnāth school.
