Dress-pin

Gold covered spherical terracotta or mastic hair- or dress-pin head (a) surmounted by a slightly flaring flat knob and resembling a pomegranate in shape. The core has expanded and split the thin gold sheet around the base of the head. A copper alloy shaft (b) found separately may belong to this pin.
