Gouache painting on paper. Viṣṇu in the form of Vāmana, the fifth avatar of the god. The dwarf Brahmin Vāmana faces the corrupt king Bali, seated on a throne and surrounded by attendants. Bali is sealing a contract by pouring water over Vāmana's hands.
