Box and cover

Although the date of manufacture is unclear, this box and cover closely resemble objects that were made for, and acquired from, the Great Exhibition of 1851. This exquisitely pierced and carved box and cover very clearly illustrate the skills of craftsmen working within the Mughal empire.
