Dagger hilt

This dagger hilt has been fashioned to a very high standard within the Mughal empire in the 18th century. It is made of dark green nephrite jade with scroll-shaped quillons, the centre of each scroll inset with a ruby cabochon in reflective (silver), closed-back settings.
