The hilt of this sword was made within the Mughal empire, probably in the late 17th century. The extremely flexible steel blade is probably later. The hilt is made of greenish grey nephrite jade inlaid with dark green nephrite jade motifs of vine leaves and bunches of grapes in fine gold wire.
