# Wine cup

This wine bowl is a rare surviving example of rock crystal produced for the Mughal court in the first half of the 17th century. It may be dated to the reign of Shah Jahan (r. 1628-1658) because of its use of floral motifs similar to those found of architecture of the period, and because of its very high quality.

- **Kind:** artefact
- **Date:** 1625–1650 CE
