Palampore

The coat-of-arms of the city of Amsterdam appears in the centre and corners of this hanging. Another piece with the same squarish format and the same arms, but with different floral decoration, is in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. A squarish palampore (wall-hanging or bed-cover) of painted and dyed cotton (chintz).
