# Buckle

This belt buckle has been fashioned from a single piece of nephrite jade and was made somewhere within the Mughal empire, probably in the 18th century. Nephrite is a hard and durable material that can be worked to give small yet strong components but it requires a skilled craftsman to work the material successfully.
