# Painting

This celebratory scene has many of the classic elements of Lucknow painting, such as the grand terrace lit with candelabras, and the pavilions and gardens receding into the distance. It is unusual in that it also incorporates a group of semi-naked ascetics and a Jain nun dressed in white robes.
