Forehead ornament

This silver-gilt forehead plaque is covered with turquoise, coral, lapis lazuli, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, aquamarine, zircon and freshwater pearls. Such forehead ornaments were fitted to large religious images by means of the hooks at each end.
