# Cape

This cape has been made from chintz dress material for use in Friesland, where it would have been worn indoors or in bed. The blue-and-white design is unusual but may be influenced by printed textiles from Alsace in the fourth quarter of the 18th century. Circular cape of painted and dyed cotton chintz.
