Huqqa base
Lucknow was a major enamelling centre in the 18th and 19th century, and produced wares such as this huqqa base decorated in characteristic blue and green translucent champleve enamel. The piece was bought by the South Kensington Museum from the Colonial and Indian Exhibition, London, in 1886.
