Textile fragment

Fragment of hand-painted and resist-dyed cotton (chintz). Remnant from a length of piece-goods (yardage). On a white ground is disposed a repeating pattern of large and rather clumsy floral sprays, reminiscent of woodcut illustrations in European books of an earlier period.
