Painting

An anonymous Indian artist used a European print, or possibly an earlier Indian copy of the print, as his subject in this painting done in about 1700. The European lady is adapted from the figure of 'Poetry' by Cornelius Jacobsz. Drebbel (1572-1634) after Hendrik Goltzius, from The Liberal Arts.
