# Hanging

This striking Crucifixion scene was made in South-East Inda, on the so-called Coromandel Coast, to be used in an Armenian church. This particular design is based on Armenian illustrated Gospels of the 12th-14th century, although the Indian craftsman who drew the design has altered it subtly from the original.

- **Kind:** artefact
- **Date:** 1700–1800 CE
