This Mughal portrait painted in about 1610-15 is inscribed in Persian 'likeness of Khan Jahan Afghan'. The emperor Jahangir, for whom it was probably painted, recorded that he regarded Khan Jahan, whose father had also been in royal service, as equal to his own sons.
