Palampore

Palampore (bedcover) of painted and resist-dyed cotton. A conventional flowering-tree design in which the angular notched tree-trunk, the flowers and butterfly reflect influence of contemporary Chinese wall-papers. The bedcover is wadded, backed with silk and quilted.
