Relief

This curved relief shows five seated Buddhas meditating amongst the trees. Their heads are set against nimbi and have long wavy hair forming a high usnisa. Under a high forehead, button eyes, nose and mouth are very closely set - a device which underlines the concentrated, meditative expression of their faces.
