### [v2.c16.246](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.art.acharya-1927.v2.c16.246)

In an architectural compilation, \*Śilpa-saṁgraha\*, of apparently a very late date, we have shewn already¹, that the \*Mānasāra\* is quoted in its true form. About the worth of considering this reference I am rather doubtful. Not that I am unwilling to bring down the \*Mānasāra\*, but because there are several facts, which cannot fit in to a very late date, like 1830 A. D. when a manuscript² of the \*Mānasāra\* was copied. The compilation could have easily consulted the \*Mānasāra\* even if the latter were placed side by side with Vitruvius, or before Maya-Asura of the \*Mahābhārata\* or Ahura-Mazda of the \*Zend-Avesta\*.
