The times employed in Indian music are peculiar; simple times are of most frequent occurrence, mixed times are largely employed; true triple time, curiously enough, is of the rarest; but there is a time, the accentuation of which is upon the first and second beat, which may be said to be a kind of triple time (although in reality a mixed time of 2/4 and C), and is much used for love songs.
