The era prevalent in the kingdom of Tripurā (Sanskritised from the tribal name *Ṭiprā*) is 3 years ahead of the Bengali era. Thus year 1357 of the Bengali era would be 1360 of the Tripurā era. There can be no doubt that the Tripurā era was adopted from the Bengali era. The difference of 3 years may be due to an arbitrary innovation or to the solarisation of Hijrī 1074.
