¹ In 1638 Randullah Khán besieged Saringapatan, but was repulsed. He subsequently took Bangalor, which Sháhji afterwards made his head-quarters. For the Bijápur conquests in the south of this period see Wilks' Mysor, I. 41, 42, and 49. About this time Tánjor was taken either by Sháhji or his son Venkaji.
