³ Besides the Bráhmans and Maráthás already mentioned as Konkanis, Haripant Phadke was a native of Guhágar, as was Gangadhar Shastri murdered at Pandharpur. The Patvardhan chiefs of Miraj originally came from the village of Ganpati-pula near Ratnágiri; the Ghorpáde chiefs of Ichalkaranji from Mhápan near Veugurla. The chiefs of Rámdurg and Narguad of the Bháve family were also Konkani Bráhmans, and Bajiráv's second wife was of the Ok family of Guhágar, if not herself a native of that place.
