A. D. 1076; of the Anala or Nala saṁvatsara, Ś.-S. 998 (expired).¹ And they name, as his principal feudatories and officials, the Mahâmaṇḍaleśvara Sêuṇachandra II., of the Yâdava family, who in A. D. 1069 was ruling the Sêuṇa province in the north of the kingdom; the Mahâmaṇḍaleśvara Lakshmarasa; who was governing the Belvola three-hundred and the Puligere three-hundred in A. D. 1071, and repaired the Jain temples which the Chôḷas had burnt in the reign of Sômēśvara I.;² the Mahâpradhâna, Heri-Saṁdhivigrahin,³ Manevergade, and Daṇḍanâyaka Udayâditya, who in A. D. 1071 was holding office at Baṅkâpur; the Mahâpradhâna, Heri-Saṁdhivigrahin, Sénâdhipati, Kuḍitavergade, and Daṇḍanâyaka Baladêvayya, with the date of A. D. 1072; the Mahâsâmantâdhipati and Daṇḍanâyaka Nâkimayya, who in A. D. 1074 was governing the Tardavâḍi thousand, on the north of Bījâpur; Gaṅgâpermanadi-Bhuvanaikavīra-Udayâditya, of the Western Gaṅga family, who in A. D. 1075 was governing the Banavâsi twelve-thousand, the Sântalige thousand, the Maṇḍali thousand, and the eighteen Agrahâras;⁴ the Mahâsâmanta Kaliyammarasa, of the Jīmūtavâhana lineage and the Khachara race, who, under Udayâditya, was governing the Bâsavura hundred-and-forty in the same year; the Mahâmaṇḍaleśvara Kārtavīrya II., of the Raṭṭa family, who, about the same time, was ruling the Kuṇḍi three-thousand, at Saundatti; the Mahâsâmantâdhipati, Daṇḍanâyaka, Mahâpradhâna, Heri-Saṁdhivigrahin, and Manevergade Sômēśvarabhaṭṭa, and the Mahâsâmantâdhipati and Daṇḍanâyaka Kêsavâdityadêva, with the date of A. D. 1075; and the Mahâmaṇḍaleśvara Siṅgaṇa,—evidently Siṅga II. of the Sēuṇa family,—who was ruling the Kisukâḍ seventy in A. D. 1076. Also, a record at the Jaṭiṅga-Râmēśvara hill in the Chitaldurg District, Mysore, shews that, in spite of the dissensions between Sômēśvara II. and his younger brothers, Jayasiṁha III. was entrusted with the government of apparently the Noḷambavâḍi province, which he held at any rate in the month Phâlguna (Feb.-March), falling in A. D. 1072, of the Virōdhikrit saṁvatsara, Śaka-Saṁvat 993 (expired); when, the record says, he was governing at the poravīḍu or camp outside Gondavâḍi.⁵ And a record, unfortunately rather damaged,
