⁴ The name Gońka seems to have been rather a favourite one during this period. Inscriptions at Teńgali and Kâligi in the Nizâm's Dominious (Carn.-Désa Inscr. Vol. II. pp. 552, 556) mention a Mahâmandalêśvara Vira-Gońkarasa or Vira-Gońkadêvarasa, of the Bâna race, with dates in A.D. 1162 and 1163, who was ruling at Kâligi.
