Lakshmi Nārāyan built a palace at Jaintiapur, the ruins of which still exist. There is an inscription on the gateway in which its erection by Lakshmi Nārāyan is set forth; it bears an indistinct date which has been read as 1632 Sak, equivalent to 1710 A.D., but as Rām Singh was ruling in 1707 there must be some mistake; the correct reading is perhaps 1602 Sak or 1680 A.D.
