History of the Pallavas of Kanchi c16.80

- **Language:** English

### [c16.80](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.general.gopalan-1928.c16.80)

This record consists of a single Sanskrit \*sloka\* in Grantha-Pallava characters and is identical with the last verse of Rājasimha’s Kāñchī inscription (\*S.I.I.\*, vol. i, No. 24). It mentions the \*birudas\* of Rājasimha, \*Śrībhara\*, \*Chitrakārmuka\*, \*Ekavīra\*, and \*Śivachuḍāmaṇi\*. Dr. Hultzsch from a study of this inscription concludes that the Panamalai cave was founded by Rājasimha and that the Pallava rule extended as far south as Panamalai at this period.
