### [v3.c28.78](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.general.haig-1928.v3.c28.78)

¹ Some English and Hindu historians, ignorant of the meaning of his name, Sultān Qulī, have taken the first half of it to be a royal title, and described him as King Qulī Qutb Shāh. This is a mistake. The word Sultān was part of his name, which means 'the Slave of the King.' 'King Qulī' is nonsense.
