The Cambridge History of India, Vol. III: Turks and Afghans v3.c36.16

- **Language:** English

### [v3.c36.16](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.general.haig-1928.v3.c36.16)

All the above are court chronicles (see Harvey, ‘History of Burma,’ pp. xvii–xx, 103), and for social conditions we have nothing but inference. There are a number of inscriptions, all Burmese; they have been printed, but inaccurately (see Harvey, ‘History of Burma,’ pp. xvi, 380), and only in vernacular; I therefore refer only to Tun Nyein’s small volume of selected translations. None of the inscriptions translated in Epigraphia Birmanica are as late as the period covered by this chapter.
