In the grants of Sadasiva, Rama is always called Sadasiva’s brother-in-law, the husband of his sister³; whilst in several poems and in an inscription of Venkata III as well as in Ferishta, Couto and the \*Basatin-us-Salatin\*, we read that Rama Raya’s wife was a daughter of Krishna Deva Raya⁴ and Queyroz even affirms that she was the only daughter of this Emperor⁵.
