The cohesion of a euphonic \*r\*, or the treating of an initial \*r\* as belonging to the preceding word may explain in the Paurava line the forms Rahampāti of the Harivaṃśa and Ahampāti of the Viṣṇu and Bhāgavata; also of Rantināra in the Vāyu and Antināra in the Matsya, while Antināra and the form generally found, Matināra, may perhaps be due to mistake between \*ma\* and \*a\*.
