² VII 1246-1258; Kāliñjara, sometimes spelt Kālañjara (VIII, 204, 618, 915), is apparently the hill fort called Kalunjur, on the frontiers of Kashmir, where Khwāja Aḥmad, the Vazir of Sulṭān Maḥmūd, was imprisoned for 18 years. See \*TF\*, Trans. by Briggs, Vol. I, pp. 89 and 99; also Stein's note on VII, 1256, in Vol. I of his Eng. Trans. of the \*Rājātaraṅgiṇī\*. It must not be confused with the Kālañjara modern Kalinjar in the Banda district of the U. P.
