### [v1.c16.229](https://indike.org/pramana/ins.general.ray-1931.v1.c16.229)

¹ Edited by Mr. R. G. Basak in \*EI\*, Vol. XII, pp. 136-42. Re-edited by N. G. Majumdar, \*IB\*, pp. 1-9. In his opinion the script belongs to "close of the 10th and the beginning of the 11th century." The record is now in the Museum of the Varendra Research Society, at Rajshahi. Mr. Basak cites evidence for the identification of \*Harikela\* and \*Candradvīpa\*; see also Hemcandra's \*Abhidhānacintāmaṇi\*, v. 957; Takakusu, \*I-tsing\*, Oxford, p. xlvi. Candradvīpa is still one of the fiscal divisions of Bakerganj; see Hunter's \*Statistical Account of Bengal\*, Vol. V, p. 224.
