Indra II is said to have married a Chalukya princess, but Dantidurga, who left no heir, and Krishna I, his uncle, who therefore came to the throne after him, were successful in overcoming the Chalukyas and establishing the supremacy of the Rāṣṭrakūṭas. The beautiful Kailāsa temple of Elurā (Ellore) was probably erected by Krishna (see Gb 61).
