¹ Padam Pawāyā village lies in the apex of the confluence of the Sindhu and Pāra. The name seems to be derived from Padmāvatī, and local tradition asserts the identity. Nāga coins have been found there; also a palm-leaf capital with an inscription of the first or second century A. C. (\*Ann. Rep. A. S. W. Circle\*, 1914–15, p. 68; \*A. S. R.\*, 1915–16, pp. 101–10, Pl. lv–lviii).
