Kielhorn's view that the conquest of Nūdīah must have taken place in the eightieth year of the Lakshmaṇasena era is supported by the Jānibīghā inscription of the year 83 (A. D. 1202) of the same era.¹ It is tolerably clear that the era commenced with the reign of the king whose name it bears, and who, as shown in the text (pp. 421, 422 \*ante\*), was a widely respected king and patron of literature.
